So Much to be Thankful For...

So Much to be Thankful For...

Did you know ‘Jingle Bells’ was originally written as song for Thanksgiving, not Christmas? The original title was ‘One Horse Open Sleigh’. The song became so popular that it was adapted to be sung at Christmas too.

Sometimes we follow traditions without ever realizing where they came from. Despite this, certain traditions bring us comfort and a sense of community, no matter where they originated.

Many of us are familiar with the story of the ‘First Thanksgiving’, when the Pilgrims celebrated their first harvest in the New World in October 1621. Some may be less familiar with the story but we can all identify with the importance of giving thanks for everything good in our lives.

Thanksgiving has become one of the most popular holidays in the US. To mark this special time, we’d like to share with you the things we are especially grateful for here at Click & Grow:

Our Collective Goals

It’s great to be part of a collective, mission driven team. Here at Click & Grow we believe that everyone deserves to thrive and have clean, fresh food. We are working towards making the most essential, fresh, vitamin-packed food available even in the remotest of areas through indoor urban farming. We also provide tips on how to garden indoors. Our indoor garden setups have proven to provide people with the perfect starting point for growing their own fresh food and taking back control over what they put in their body. These are goals we can be proud of and we are grateful to have them at the foundation of all we do.

Our Staff

Having dedicated staff is essential to any company. We are especially grateful to our passionate teams who do all they can to help us in our mission. As Oliver Wendell Holmes once said,

"Many ideas grow better when transplanted into another mind than the one where they sprang up."

We love this quote, not only because of its plant analogies, but also because of how true it is. As team members, we learn from each other as we work towards making the types of products that make you happy.

Investment

Another reason to be grateful this year is for the $11 Million we were able to raise in investment. Along with this, we received the partnership of investors Ingka Group, the world’s largest home furnishing retailer operating 367 IKEA stores and SEB Alliance (Group SEB, the world's leader in small household equipment). We are deeply grateful to be entering this exciting new chapter together with you.

Our Community

Most of all, we are grateful for you, our amazing community. You inspire us to keep innovating and moving forwards. We are also grateful for your participation in our thriving ‘Ask a Gardener’ forum. Our gardeners are so encouraged to see members of the community help each other when it comes to looking at how to grow food indoors. We’re delighted that you are using this forum to reach out to us with plant based queries. A big thank you to all of you who follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter too. Thank you for believing in us and helping us get to where we are today.

What are you personally grateful for this Thanksgiving? Whatever your answer may be, we hope your holiday is as peaceful and refreshing as it can possibly be.
